Lifelong Learning Whether you are looking to study for personal enjoyment, develop your career or wish to take the next step towards higher education, Lifelong Learning at the University of Southampton provides a varied programme of evening courses and events for the wider community. At Lifelong Learning our motto is Meet, Learn, Enjoy. We aim to offer a learning experience that is sociable and enjoyable, so that you can engage with new ideas, skills and viewpoints, drawing on our latest research and teaching expertise. We offer courses in a wide variety of subjects, which reflect the expertise and academic excellence of the University. Subjects include Archaeology, Astronomy, Creative Writing, English Literature, Film, History, Philosophy, Reflective Art, Modern Languages and many more. Bookings for our courses starting in 2025 are open. We are pleased to announce that we are offering a selection of Beginner courses in French, Greek, Japanese and Spanish and classes will start in January. These courses are an ideal way to try out learning a new language and to develop some basic and practical skills for the holiday season.
