The School aims to equip PhD students and other Early Career Researchers with latest developments in the field and technical skills that are valuable in many areas of research in Amplitudes. STFC Introductory Course in Solar and Solar Terrestrial Physics 2026DescriptionThe STFC Introductory Course in Solar and Solar -Terrestrial Physics for 2026 will be held at the University of Southampon from Sunday 23rd August to Friday 28th August 2026. The course will be hosted by Dr Imogen Gingell and the Space Environment Group research group in the School of Physics & Astronomy. The course is primarily intended for students who have either started their PhD since the last summer school in 2025, or those who will begin their PhD this year in September/October 2026. Additionally there could be students who are in later years of their PhD studies but would still find this course helpful. For more information visit: https://www.astro.soton.ac.uk/stfcsolar2026/ Registration includes all meals, the icebreaker on evening of Sunday 23rd August, all lectures and summer school sessions, the conference dinner the evening of Wednesday 26th August. There are 25 places available for STFC students, which will be awarded on a first-come-first-served basis for all valid applications. STFC-funded students can register for the summer school for free. There are a further 10 places for non-STFC students. These will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. The standard cost for non-STFC students is £750. This includes all items as described above.
