Japanese 1Info Course Information![]() We very much look forward to welcoming both new and returning students to the University of Southampton. Unless otherwise stated, all courses will be taught in person at our Avenue Campus. Please click here to view a map of the Campus. We would like to advise you that you will need to have the appropriate technology and suitable internet connection in place, as we will be making use of online materials, even if you are studying fully on campus. This will not only greatly enhance your learning experience but will mean that you are adequately equipped to learn online, should the need arise at any point in the future. At Southampton, we use a virtual learning environment (VLE) called Blackboard which is used to deliver learning materials and real-time online teaching for our students. You will have the option to book just Term 1 "A taste of Japanese" (10 weeks) followed by Term 2 & 3 "Move on in Japanese" (20 weeks) or to book the whole year 30 weeks course, Japanese 1abc.
Term 1 will take place October – December (Christmas Holiday excluded), Term 2 will take place January - March and Term 3 will take place April - July (Easter Holiday excluded).
