Is your organisation wrestling with messy datasets? Are you seeking ways to better harness metadata to support the long-term accessibility and usability of your digital assets? 

This online edition of our Mastering Metadata workshop offers a hands-on introduction to metadata cleaning and enrichment for digital preservation. With a focus on real-world problem-solving, this session will guide you through strategies for making your metadata more structured, sustainable, and useful. 

In this workshop, you will:

  • Identify and troubleshoot messy metadata using real archival datasets.
  • Get hands-on with practical data wrangling tools and software such as OpenRefine.
  • Learn strategies for enriching collections data to enhance discoverability and long-term value.
  • Share your own challenges and gain insights from others in the community. 

Whether you're new to metadata or looking to sharpen your skills, this afternoon session offers a collaborative environment to explore solutions together.
