ISVR Advanced Course in Aeroacoustics & Noise Control

ISVR Advanced Course in Aeroacoustics & Noise Control

Description

The Institute of Sound and Vibration Research (ISVR) Advanced Course is a five-day taught course in Sound and Vibration led by world-class academics.

Aeroacoustics:

After laying out some fundamental principles of noise analysis this advanced course in Aeroacoustics provides a deep understanding of the physics that underpins aeroacoustic noise generation and control.  Modelling techniques are examined and a number of specific applications are discussed including road vehicles, turbomachinery, and aircraft.

This course is suitable for anyone working in industrial design on products where reducing flow noise is a key driver, as well as those working in aeroacoustic noise control consultancy or research. The course will benefit both those with extensive experience in aeroacoustics who wish to further their understanding of its principles, and those new to the field.  Either a degree-level qualification or equivalent working knowledge and experience in engineering, physical sciences, or mathematics is recommended to attend this course.

Noise Control:

This Advanced Course in Noise Control examines the character of noise in some key applications, and discusses how noise may be reduced by design or palliative treatment.  After laying out the fundamental principles the course goes on to cover measurement and analysis techniques, vibration and noise control, and specific applications including case histories.

This course is suitable for anyone working in industrial design on products where reducing noise is a key driver, as well as those working in noise control consultancy or research.  The course will benefit both those with extensive experience in noise control who wish to further their understanding of its principles, and those new to the field.  Either a degree-level qualification or equivalent working knowledge and experience in engineering, physical sciences, or mathematics is recommended in order to attend this course.
