Cochlear Implants The Basics

This FREE one day course is aimed at professionals with no prior knowledge of cochlear implants who want to know the basics in order to support a child in a classroom setting. This would be of particular interest to SENCOs and Learning Support Assistants.

Delegates who do not support an USAIS patient will pay £30 towards the cost of this training.

This course will cover the following:

• What is a cochlear implant?
• Troubleshooting equipment
• What is it like to have a hearing loss?
• Optimising the listening environment
• How to support progress (divided into child age groups)

Delegates will need to choose:

1. An implant manufacturer and
2. One age group to focus on for the day

You will need to select this during the booking which will ask you to indicate if you require parking and provide your car registration number.
