The original Thinking about Biofilms like a Physicist  NBIC training module is now open to Industry!

Biofilm research offers the opportunity to collaborate, think about, and understand these complex biological systems from a multitude of angles. Whether you are a PhD research student or a professional from the industry sector, you bring diverse expertise, often rooted in the biological sciences and/or technology.

This course is designed to highlight the power of interdisciplinarity and equip you with the confidence and knowledge to engage effectively  with researchers and professionals across the physical sciences.  

By fostering cross-sector dialogue and collaboration, we aim to strengthen your ability to navigate and contribute to the broader biofilm innovation landscape.

Objectives: By attending this course you will: 

* Be introduced to concepts of ‘Soft Condensed Matter’ and how we can use these ideas to better understand biofilms.
* Become familiarised with the essential methods and concepts used to model and interrogate biofilms theoretically and computationally.
* Be provided with an overview of image analysis methods with practical exercises aimed toward applications in biofilm science.
* Take part in an Entrepreneurial Masterclass given by Prantar Tamuli, founding director of Tattva. 
* Be able to ‘speak’ the language of the physical sciences to help facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration in your future work.
