What is Education research and what makes it different to other types of research?
How do we know what’s worth reading?
Criticality in research- how do we know what makes a difference?

Education research can play an important role in enhancing teaching and informing professional learning in schools. However, relatively few teachers are actually using research evidence in their practice (Howard-Jones, 2024). There are practical obstacles for teachers including a lack of time or access to high quality education research as well as recognising what is worth reading and applying to their practice.

This Short Course in Unpacking Education Research equips teachers and school leaders with core skills in research literacy to be able to locate, access and be critical about the education research they consume and how to use this in their practice.

This 6 hr Short Course will blend taught input with practical ‘gap-tasks’ and opportunities to review practice in light of new learning.

Why not follow this CPD with the ERPN Short Course in Becoming a Researching Teacher, which equips teachers and leaders to design and conduct practitioner research!
