Alginate is a flexible impression material, suitable for hand application onto skin. Alginate quickly produces a single-use mould, and is typically used for body casting as it is a skin-safe moulding material.

Alginate is pale yellow in colour, with a pleasant peppermint scent in use. As a guide, one 550g pack is sufficient to mould two adult hands in full.
