Course Description

Overview

Here at WASP, we love supporting health and social care professionals to embed personalised care within their everyday practice.  Shared Decision Making (SDM) is a core component of personalised care, helping to ensure that individuals are supported to make the decisions about their health and care, that are right for them.

Shared decision making is a joint process, through which professionals and people with long term conditions work together to make decisions based on the individual’s needs, and what matters most to them.  However - this is easier said than done!  To be done well, SDM requires professionals to have a range of knowledge and skills – including the ability to balance evidence and professional judgement with the priorities of those receiving care.

This one-day workshop will introduce participants to the core knowledge and skills required for SDM.  The course is delivered online, involving group work and interactive sessions. We hope to see you there!
