A one day masterclass on qualitative research led by Professor David Silverman. Designed for PhD students as well as early career researchers, it is an opportunity to learn about the uses and limits of mixed methods, and how to write up a qualitative PhD. Course Description

The Qualitative Group, Primary Care and Population Sciences at the University of Southampton, invites you to a one day masterclass on designing and completing qualitative research led by world renowned expert Professor David Silverman.   Aimed at PhD students, this masterclass is an opportunity to learn about the uses and limits of mixed methods, and how to write up a qualitative PhD. It will be illustrated by Professor Silverman’s research on healthcare and counselling sessions based on a   constructionist perspective.

The workshop will include lectures and practical sessions, as well as a limited number of one-to-one supervisions.
